One of the most famous villages in the muniicipality of Loulé is the cosmopolitan village of Vilamoura. Activities at the marina include windsurfing, jet skiing, parasailing and surfing. Also you can rent a boat to go fishing or to admire dolphins.

It is also the municipality of Loulé, where you will find the exclusive golf and beach resorts of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago. Here are the most expensive villas in the Algarve located where many famous Dutch and international artists own their (2nd) house. However, the restaurants and the beach are free accessible, so if you want to be for a day in this luxurious surrounding; feel free to visit.

Other places that are very well known and of interest to homeowners are Almancil and Boliqueime. Almancil forms together with Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago the "Golden Triangle" of the Algarve. Boliqueime is a bit further inland and is very popular with second home owners for the peace and privacy that you find here in the valley and yet you are within easy reach of a significant number of large towns such as Vilamoura, Albufeira, Almancil and so on.

Inland  there are also many delightful white washed villages such as  Querenca where you can savour the atmosphere of a traditional Algarvean  village of white houses and modest gardens or Salir where the  houses  are scattered  around  the ruins of the castle and its narrow  streets are an alluring mix of bright flowerpots, whitewashed walls and peace and quiet . Alte is another acclaimed village considered by many to be the most typical village in the Agarve and its historic centre has retained much of its original charm.

Loulé center is approximately 20 minutes from Faro airport.
